John Clemente Sirica

John Clemente Sirica passed away at home on March 23d, 2008. A Mass will be held for him on April 8th, 2008 in Washington DC.

The Artist

John Clemente Sirica grew up near Danbury CT. He graduated from The Citadel and served in the in the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne Division. Upon completing his tour of duty with the Army, John attended the George Washington University earning a Masters in Fine Arts degree.

A Fine Start

During his time in Washington DC from 1966 to 1980, John concentrated on printmaking, teaching and devoting time to District art organizations. John C. Sirica was the Artist In Residence and served on the faculty at the National Collection of Fine Arts. John was also the President of the Printmaker’s Workshop, Ltd. and President of The World Art Expo.

Widely Recognized

The foundation of John’s art experience has been in prints and printmaking. John’s prints are in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The National Museum of American Art in the Smithsonian Institute [Formerly known as the National Collection of Fine Arts], Library of Congress, The National Gallery and many more distinguished venues.
